Unexplained body found on cliffs near G7 summit


A body has been found near the Cornish coast not far away from where world leaders are meeting for the G7 Summit.

Emergency services including Devon and Cornwall Police, the RNLI and Coastguard were called out at around 11.15am today (June 11) to the North Cornwall coastline.


A search was conducted in the North Cliffs and Basset's Cove areas, with marine traffic trackers showing activity around Hell's Mouth, which is not far away from Carbis Bay, where the G7 Summit begins today.

In a statement, police confirmed that a dead body had been located near Basset's Cove at around 11.30am.

The death is described as "unexplained" but is not believed to be suspicious.
