'The Wave' is a film from 1981, in which a student asks his history teacher how it is possible that people en masse follow 1 leader. The teacher then conducts an experiment for months after which the whole school follows him blindly and believes in what he does and says.

This movie should be required reading. It shows what cognitive dissonance and mass derealization are all about. It is exactly what happened in 1940-'45 and what is happening today. It's not for nothing that this film has been removed several times. You only see it when you realize it.
